An active real estate broker and instructor, Rick Baker is the founder, owner and Broker-in-Charge of his own real estate firm. With over 40 years of professional experience, Rick has spent the last 13 years concentrating on commercial real estate brokerage where he has been an award winning broker (Top Producer and Top Lister) with the largest and oldest commercial firm in Greensboro. He has held his real estate license since 1999 and is licensed in both North Carolina and South Carolina. Rick teaches Prelicensing and Postlicensing courses. He uses his experiences in real estate transactions and business to provide examples and insights into understanding real estate requirements and responsibilities. Rick is very involved in his profession and, as a result, is an active member in various professional real estate organizations such as the North Carolina Real Estate Educators Association, the North Carolina and National Association of REALTORS, the Triad Real Estate Investors Association, The Greensboro Board of REALTORS and the Greensboro REALTORS Commercial Alliance where he is a past Board of Directors member and past Chairman of the Board. Rick is also a designee of the prestigious international Certified Commercial Institute Member (CCIM). Rick holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Campbell University and a Masters of Science degree from West Virginia University. He is a Vietnam Era military veteran and is very involved with community veteran and civic organizations. He is a member of the United Methodist church.
Gary Caddell is the owner of GR Caddell, LLC. He specializes in assisting North Carolina real estate brokers with maintaining their trust and escrow accounts in compliance with the North Carolina Real Estate License Law and North Carolina Real Estate Commission rules. Gary also provides bookkeeping services, assists licensees who are the subjects of complaints, assists the parties in real estate related litigation and lectures to North Carolina real estate brokers on various topics. Prior to starting his own company, Gary was employed as an Auditor/Investigator with the NC Real Estate Commission for 20 years. The last position he held with the NCREC was Chief Auditor/Investigator. During his years with the Commission, Gary investigated many types of complaints, including mortgage loan fraud, embezzlement, misrepresentation and self-dealing. Gary was also the person primarily responsible for developing and teaching the Commissions continuing education courses on trust account maintenance. Gary's professional certifications include "Certified Fraud Examiner" from the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, "Senior Certified Real Estate Investigator" from the Association of Real Estate License Law Officials and "Certified Investigator" from the Council on Licensure, Enforcement & Regulation.
Frank has been helping people buy & sell Real Estate in Pitt County for over a decade and has taught in both public and private schools for seven years. In 1991, Frank earned a Masters Degree in Education (MAEd) from East Carolina University. While attending college, Frank worked in construction so he understands the home building process from the ground up. As an award winning Broker and former BIC/Owner of one of the area's largest real estate firms, Frank has direct experience and insight in the home sales process. He has served as a member on the Board Of Directors for the Greenville/Pitt Association Of Realtors and is currently the Broker-in-Charge for Home Buyers Marketing Inc. Frank has a passion for teaching others about the ever changing Real Estate Industry and currently teaches Prelicensing Courses at our Greenville classroom.
Sheila began her real estate career in 1985 in Brentwood, TN. Her sales experience includes residential sales, managing new construction developments, and training new agents. She consistently earned annual sales awards for multi-million dollars sales. In 1998, Sheila relocated to North Carolina to manage a new construction and golf course community near her hometown in Shelby, NC. She began teaching part-time in 1999 and has taught in both community colleges and private real estate schools. She also worked as the Training and Development Coordinator for the oldest and largest real estate firm in Charlotte, NC. Sheila says her greatest love is training new sales agents. She holds a BA degree in Business Administration and a post-graduate certification in Paralegal Studies. In 2007 and 2009, she received the North Carolina Real Estate Educator's Program of the Year Award for programs she authored and taught. From 2010 - 2013, Sheila served on the NCREEA Board of Directors. Sheila currently holds an active NC Broker's license and a SC Broker-in-Charge license. She is currently a member of the NC Real Estate Educator's Association, the NC Association of Realtors and the Charlotte Regional Realtor's Association. Sheila teaches Pre-Licensing, Post-Licensing and Continuing Education primarily in our Hickory and Charlotte locations. Her students say "Sheila has some of the best real estate stories ever!!"
While working with two of the largest real estate firms in the Triangle area both as an agent and a Broker-in-Charge, Donna has been training and coaching real estate licensees since the early 1980's. Currently, she is managing an office in Knightdale, where she actively assists in developing the business career of the agents while growing the office to respond to an improving real estate market. She brings this enthusiasm to the classroom as a real estate instructor and her real life experiences allow her to relate to students in Prelicensing, Postlicensing and Continuing Education Courses, which she teaches in our Raleigh location. Donna has been an active participant in the REALTOR organization, serving on both the local and state levels. She has served as President of the Raleigh Regional Association of Realtors, named Realtor of the Year, and continues to serve on the Government Affairs Committee. At NCAR, she has served twice on the Executive Committee and a number of years as State Director. Her professional designations include GRI, CRB, e-Pro and SFR. In 2012, Donna was named Member of the Year for the Women's Council of Realtors. Donna graduated from North Carolina State University with a BA in Speech Communications.
Following her career in cable and television broadcasting, Venita transferred into the real estate and insurance arena. Having graduated from Shaw University and NC State University, she created Greater Raleigh Real Estate, Inc. and holds the GRI and SFR designations. She is also a life, health and Medicare insurance consultant. "I experienced the greatest melting pot of a lifetime as an undergraduate at Old Dominion University. Forty years later, I am now in the midst of an even more diverse society of outrageously creative, knowledgeable and patient students who don't think twice about helping each other while solidifying their own personal goals. This is one script I could never have written."
Andy has an Associate's Degree in Industrial Management from Fayetteville Technical Community College and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Campbell University. Andy has over 30 years in the Training profession in local industry, Fayetteville Technical Community College, and Real Estate. He served in the US Navy on a Submarine tender in Dunoon, Scotland as an Electricians Mate. He was also the Company Trainer at two Real Estate firms, training all new agents as well as experienced agents. Andy has over 10 years as an active Real Estate Broker in the Fayetteville, North Carolina and surrounding areas. He was named Listing Agent of the Year at Prudential John Koenig, REALTORS more than one year, Listing Agent of the Month many times and was awarded the Multi-Million Dollar award while practicing Real Estate. Andy uses his vast experience in sales and listings to teach Prelicensing, Postlicensing and Continuing Education Classes across North Carolina.
A real estate Broker and Investor, Kim Stotesbury is an award winning real estate educator and author. She is one of only a few real estate instructors nationwide who hold the prestigious Distinguished Real Estate Instructor (DREI) designation. Kim has received the outstanding "Educator of the Year", award, and the "Real Estate Program of the Year" award from the North Carolina Real Estate Educators Association. She has also been awarded the "Billie J. Mercer Excellence in Education" award by the North Carolina Real Estate Commission. Kim has served as President of the North Carolina Real Estate Association. She is currently the J.Y. Monk Real Estate School's training manager, and she teaches all types of courses offered by J.Y. Monk Real Estate School.
From his years as an Economic Developer for one of the countyry's most well chronicled revitalization programs, through his years as a Commercial Broker, Owner and Broker-in-Charge of one of Western North Carolina's most productive real estate brokerage firms overseeing some 6,300+ successful closings, Russell truly brings a myriad of experience to J.Y. Monk and its students. He has held numerous leadership positions within the Industry, including President of the Asheville Board of REALTORS®, Regional Vice President/Executive Committee Member of the North Carolina Association of REALTORS® and as Second Vice President of the Home Builder's Association of Greater Asheville, to name a few. He served as Chair of Professional Standards at his local Board for many years and is a trained Mediator, serving the REALTOR® organization when arbitrable matters arise. Russell has been a speaker or panelist at local, State, National and International conferences on topics ranging from technology, value propositions, risk management and other Industry related matters. He is an active, licensed real estate Broker and Broker-in-Charge in both North and South Carolina.
